What chakras are and why it is important for them to be aligned

As well as being elegant jewellery, chakra bracelets help to balance the chakras and promote a flow of positive energy that benefits the body and mind.

The name chakra comes from the Sanskrit word for circle and refers to the energy centres that regulate different areas of our life. The chakras are distributed along the vertical axis of the body: from the coccyx, along the spine, up to the top of the head. There are more than 100 chakras, 7 are the main ones.

The chakras are the important channel through which we exchange vital energy in the universe. It is therefore essential to keep them aligned so that the flow can slow down or speed up and so that the amount of vital energy exchanged remains constant.

What is a chakra bracelet?

The chakra bracelet is a piece of jewellery worn on the wrist or ankle and is made up of 7 natural stones in different colours, each with a specific function.

What are the seven chakras?

The seven chakras

First chakra

Muladhara or root chakra is located in the perineum area and is represented by a lotus flower with red petals. Muladhara is the foundation for the entire Chakra system and its main element is earth.

Associated stones and/or crystals: red or black in colour, such as red jasper, ruby, red coral, black onyx, garnet, obsidian.

Second chakra

Svadhisthana or sacral chakra is located just below the navel and is associated with creativity and expressions of the Self. It has the shape of a white lotus with orange petals inside which a crescent moon is inscribed. Its reference element is water.

Associated stones and/or crystals: carnelian, citrine, topaz, amber, opal.

Third chakra

Manipura or solar plexus chakra is located below the sternum. It is associated with will and ego and is represented by a lotus flower with ten yellow petals with an inverted triangle inside it. Its reference element is fire.

Associated stones and/or crystals: yellow calcite, citrine, topaz.

Fourth chakra

Anahata or heart chakra, as the name suggests, is located right at heart level, on the sternum. It is associated with the pure motions of the spirit, such as humility, forgiveness and, of course, love. The reference element is air.

Associated stones and/or crystals: green or pink in colour, such as aventurine and tourmaline.

Fifth chakra

Visuddha or throat chakra is located at throat level and is considered the chakra of communication and dialogue. Its symbol is a light blue lotus flower and it is associated with ether.

Associated stones and/or crystals: lapis lazuli, aquamarine, turquoise, sodalite, celestite.

Sixth chakra

Ajna or third eye chakra is located on the forehead, between the eyebrows. Its symbol is an OM positioned above an inverted triangle that lies inside a circle between two lotus petals. Ajna is connected to everything relating to intuition and extrasensory abilities. The element that represents this chakra is light.

Associated stones and/or crystals: blue and purple ones, such as sapphire, fluorite, amethyst, lapis lazuli, labradorite, opal, moldavite, sodalite, zircon.

Seventh chakra

Sahasrara or crown chakra is located at the top of the head and governs the entire spiritual sphere. It is also called the thousand-petalled chakra, because its name in Sanskrit means “with a thousand petals”, referring to the number of petals of the lotus flower that represents it. The associated element is metal.

Associated stones and/or crystals: rock crystal, clear quartz, diamond.

The benefits of the chakra bracelet

The seven chakra bracelet is created to help you keep the chakras in balance and, consequently, support psycho-physical wellbeing. Men and women all over the world wear 7 chakra bracelets (also in the anklet version) to remove any blockages and promote a positive energy flow.

How to wear a chakra stone bracelet correctly

You can wear 7 chakra bracelets on either side of the body. Wear them on the left hand or ankle if you want to manage stress coming from within, on the right hand or ankle if you wish to manage stress coming from the external environment.
